Trellis Battens

Our Trellis Battens are strong, pressure-treated timber battens designed for constructing, supporting and repairing timber trellis panels. Ideal for both domestic and commercial landscaping projects, these wooden battens provide a reliable framework for trellis while supporting climbing plants and helping structures withstand outdoor weather conditions.

Manufactured from pressure-treated softwood, our trellis battens offer improved protection against moisture, decay and general outdoor exposure. They are a practical and durable choice for creating bespoke trellis panels, garden screens and climbing plant supports.

Trellis Batten Sizes

We currently supply trellis battens in the following sizes:

  • 38mm x 19mm x 1.8m
  • 38mm x 19mm x 3.6m

The 1.8m timber battens are ideal for smaller trellis sections, repairs and compact garden projects, while the 3.6m battens are suitable for larger trellis panels and projects where longer lengths are required.

These substantial timber battens provide a strong framework for garden trellis, helping to support climbing plants while maintaining the structure and durability of the panel.

Pressure Treated Timber Trellis Battens

Our pressure-treated trellis battens are designed for outdoor use and offer increased resistance to moisture and weather exposure. Pressure-treated softwood is a popular choice for garden trellis because it provides a good balance of durability, practicality and value.

Whether you're building a decorative garden screen, supporting climbing plants or constructing bespoke trellis panels, these wooden trellis battens provide a versatile solution for a range of landscaping applications.

Trellis Batten Applications

Our timber battens are suitable for:

  • Constructing garden trellis panels
  • Supporting climbing plants and vines
  • Creating decorative garden screens
  • Building bespoke timber trellis
  • Repairing existing trellis panels
  • Creating garden dividers and privacy screens
  • Landscaping and garden construction projects

Supporting Freestanding Trellis

When constructing freestanding trellis, adequate support is important to help the structure withstand wind and the additional weight of climbing plants. Trellis posts can be secured into the ground using suitable post fixing methods, such as post mix or concrete. Smaller trellis structures may also be supported using substantial planters or other suitable weighted bases.

For larger or exposed installations, we recommend ensuring the supporting posts and fixings are appropriately sized for the height, weight and location of the trellis.
